How to Datamine iPoker

Some poker rooms consider datamining to be an unfair advantage.
I don't have the time to stay up to date with the changes the poker rooms make to their T&Cs, so be sure to check them yourself.

If you want to start datamining iPoker you will need a handgrabber, which is a program that can save hand histories from observed games (datamine). Idleminer has recently released a new iPoker handgrabber called "iPoker Hand Grabber".

The handgrabber is very simple to use and will get you started datamining very fast. Please note that you get a free 1000 hand trial after you have downloaded it.

Datamining on iPoker

iPoker Hand Grabber makes datamining on iPoker easy, all you have to do is to start the program and press "Launch Site", after which it will save hand histories from any table you open.

Please note that iPoker Hand Grabber does not set the player's stack size to 10.000.000$ (there has been some confusion about this). While having huge stack sizes in your datamined hand histories isn't a problem for most players, it can be annoying, especially if you like to use stack sized filters in Holdem Manager/Pokertracker.

While iPoker Hand Grabber's few features does make it extremely easy to use, experienced dataminers may miss the option to have it automatically open and close tables, so you can leave your computer to datamine without having to come back every 3-4 hour and open new tables because the ones you were datamining isn't active anymore.

This functionality is called a "table opener" and is included in EyePoker, which is a table selection program for iPoker. You can read more about EyePoker below.

iPoker Table Selection

Whether you are datamining or buying hand histories you can increase the edge it gives you by using those hands to improve your table selection.

By using EyePoker you can easily identify tables with known fish from your Pokertracker or Holdem Manager. The program works by scanning the lobby on the iPoker skin you play at to find the name of all the players that are online. It then looks up those players using Pokertracker/Holdem Manager and give you a list of tables where bad players are sitting.

This makes table selection very easy, and unless you play a game where there are less than 20 active tables, you will almost always find at least 4-6 very good tables with no or 1 player waiting list.
