How to Datamine on Absolute Poker (Cereus)

Some poker rooms consider datamining to be an unfair advantage.

The first step to get started datamining on the Cereus network (Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet) is to get a handgrabber. Handgrabbers are basically small programs that can save hand histories from observed games. Each handgrabber only support a single network or poker site.

Idleminer has created a Cereus handgrabber called "Absolute Poker Idleminer". The handgrabber were created before Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet formed the Cereus network, and Idleminer has kept the name, even though it technically is a Cereus handgrabber.

Datamining on the Cereus Network

Absolute Poker Idleminer is fairly simple to use. All you have to do to get started datamining, is to start the program and select "Options>Manual Operation Mode” from the top menu and it will save hand histories from any table you open.

If you are an experienced dataminer you will probably want to take advantage of the possibility to have the handgrabber open and close tables automatically, using its built in table opener. You can configure it to only open tables from the stakes you specify, and even exclude tables with too few or too many players.

This feature is especially useful for mid- high stakes players as well as those who's play a lot of heads up, since there tables often break. If you fx play NL600$ HU and NL1000$ 6-max you can set a filter, so Absolute Poker Idleminer will open as many active heads up tables as possible and then fill up with NL1000$ 6-max tables.

Cereus Table Selection

While datamined hands certainly help you when you sit at the table, the benefits is almost bigger when you use them for table selection.
